Westcotts extends support for grassroots football in Devon

Westcotts has renewed its headline sponsorship of the Devon Midweek Cup, continuing the firm’s partnership with the Devon County Football Association for the next two seasons.

The Midweek Cup is a long-standing county football competition that brings together clubs from across Devon for competitive midweek fixtures. Westcotts has proudly supported the competition since the 2021/22 season, underlining the firm’s commitment to grassroots sport and community engagement in the region.

Last season’s tournament saw Plymouth Argyle Football in the Community lift the Westcotts Midweek Cup for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year.

Sean Smith, Partner at Westcotts, said: “We are really pleased to renew our support of the Midweek Cup for the next two seasons. County cup competitions play an important role in uniting clubs and supporters across Devon, providing competitive opportunities and helping to sustain local football communities. We are proud to be part of that and to see the competition go from strength to strength.”

Devon FA Chief Executive Chris French also welcomed the continuation of the partnership, highlighting the enthusiasm and commitment that Westcotts has brought to the competition since its involvement began.

He said: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Westcotts for another two seasons and we are looking forward to seeing the Midweek Cup continue to grow.

“Sean and his team’s enthusiasm for the competition shines through and we are looking forward to what the future holds.”

The renewed sponsorship ensures that Westcotts will remain prominently associated with the Midweek Cup through to the end of the 2027 season, supporting fixtures, finals and community engagement activities linked to the tournament.

Westcotts has deep roots in the South West, with more than 40 years’ experience delivering accountancy and advisory services to individuals and businesses across Devon and Somerset.
