Westcotts recognised among UK’s leading apprenticeship employers for fourth consecutive year

Westcotts has once again been recognised among the UK’s leading apprenticeship employers after being ranked 70th in the Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2026.

The South West firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers has now appeared in top 100 apprenticeship national rankings for four consecutive years and this year’s results has seen the firm climb seven places from its 2025 position.

Compiled annually, the Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers celebrates organisations that demonstrate a strong commitment to apprenticeships, taking into account factors including the creation of new apprenticeship opportunities, diversity and apprentice achievement rates.

The recognition comes during a period of continued growth for the Westcotts, with apprenticeships remaining a key part of the firm’s long-term approach to developing talent and supporting career progression. Westcotts currently has more than 40 team members undertaking apprenticeships across the business, with apprentices continuing to play a key role in developing the firm’s future talent pipeline.

The firm has a long track record of supporting apprentices, with former trainees progressing into senior management and partner roles. Apprentices are supported throughout their training by dedicated line managers, structured development programmes and ongoing mentoring. Westcotts also works closely with schools, colleges and universities across the region and is a member of the South West Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (SWAAN), reflecting its commitment to promoting apprenticeships and career opportunities across the South West.

Simon Irvin, People Director at Westcotts, said: “Apprenticeships play a vital role in how we develop talent at Westcotts, bringing fresh perspectives into the firm and creating opportunities for people to build rewarding careers within the profession.”

“Many of our managers, senior leaders and partners started their careers as trainees, so this recognition reflects both the commitment of our people and our long-standing investment in learning and development.

“Investing in our people ultimately means investing in the quality of advice and support we provide to clients. We are proud to be recognised once again among the UK’s leading apprenticeship employers and of the positive impact apprenticeships continue to have on both our business and the individuals building their careers with us.”

Westcotts Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers has been supporting businesses and individuals across the South West for more than 40 years.
