Barnstaple and Holsworthy teams walk 16 miles for charity

Earlier this month the Barnstaple and Holsworthy office colleagues embarked on a 16 mile walk in aid of Spark UK. The sponsored walk saw 9 colleagues walk from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe in just over five hours.

Spark UK is this year’s nominated charity for the Westcotts offices in North Devon. The charity was set up by young people to help other young people by sparking conversations around mental health. They create and provide a range of resources, campaigns and lessons for schools and young people across the country. All the team are aged between 14-18 and based in North Devon.

Kerry Tyas, Audit and Charity Accounts Manager at Westcotts said: “We had an incredible day walking from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe in aid of Spark UK. The weather couldn’t have been better and we enjoyed the scenery on our way.

“I’m thrilled that we have exceeded our fundraising target and have raised over £325. Thank you to everyone who took part and donated to this important cause.”

At Westcotts, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we live and work. This event was the latest in our series of fundraising initiatives led by colleagues, from a bingo event to taking on the Three Peaks Challenge.
