Client Story: The Inclusivity Group

A corporate group committed to revolutionising support services for disabled and deaf people has been launched with the help of expert advice from Westcotts.

Three South West firms – Complete Communication, Complete Training, and Complete Independence – have joined forces to become The Inclusivity Group.

The Plymouth-based company provides a person-centred service that supports individuals to ‘achieve their best both professionally and personally’. This means helping deaf, disabled, and elderly people to access the services and information they need in education, the workplace, the community and in the arts.

Some of the local businesses the group has worked with include Theatre Royal Plymouth, Exeter Northcott, Plymouth City Council and The University of Plymouth.

The Inclusivity Group’s Managing Director is British Sign Language/English Interpreter Daryl McMullan. Daryl recently worked with Tasha Stone, the first ever deaf contestant on the hit Channel 4 show, the Great British Bake Off.

Daryl says it has been a busy few months for him and his team, but he is delighted that the restructuring has gone smoothly.

He credits Westcotts with helping to create a company structure which now provides one point of access for customers.

Daryl worked with Westcotts’ director Sean Bolter, whose expert advice included streamlining services across the three businesses, while bringing them under the same umbrella.

Daryl said: “This is an exciting new chapter for all three companies that fall under The Inclusivity Group and we could not have achieved our goal without the support of Sean and his team.

“Throughout the last year, they have guided us through the process, acting as a sounding board for our business plans and providing recommendations to help the business flourish.

“Sean’s holistic perspective of the business has meant that he’s been able to help us to identify and advise us on the right choice for the business and our customers. This has given us the confidence to keep growing, and I’m pleased that Sean will continue to be present as we continue to service the disabled and deaf community.”

Becoming the Inclusivity Group is the latest development for a business that has seen rapid growth since it was first launched under the name Complete Communication, back in 2019.

From there, the original firm grew into three companies with 14 office staff and employees based across the country.

Once it was decided that three should become one, Westcotts’ Sean Bolter led the team through the process, implementing adjustments to the current shareholdings, share for share exchanges, and forming the new corporate structure with no tax burden arising.

And the support hasn’t stopped there. Sean, Director based at the Westcotts Plymouth office, has continued to guide the team through the transition to new accountancy software, which better suits the needs of the business and can be integrated with new customer relationship management software.

Sean said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed supporting Daryl and the team to achieve their vision. It’s great to see this hard work being shared with their customers and wider public and I’m excited to continue to collaborate with Daryl and his team on the next chapter of this journey.”

The Westcotts team, led by Sean, will continue to provide ongoing business advice and compliance support as the company continues to go grow and progress.
