Westcotts promotes Abi Petch to Director

Westcotts, a leading South West firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, has promoted Abi Petch to Director, strengthening its management team with her 25-plus years’ experience advising businesses and their owners.

Abi has developed her expertise and career within Westcotts since joining the firm in 2004. A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), she is based at Westcotts’ Exeter office and manages a broad portfolio of clients including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders, with experience advising LLPs and professional service firms.

A general practice specialist, Abi particularly enjoys working with start-ups and growing owner-managed businesses, supporting clients as they navigate the challenges of running and developing their organisations. Her approach focuses on combining strong technical knowledge with a practical understanding of commercial realities, helping businesses operate efficiently and plan effectively for the future.

Abi said: “I’ve spent most of my career at Westcotts and it has been a great place to develop, both professionally and personally. The firm’s approach has always suited how I like to work – building long-term relationships and giving clients clear, practical advice they can rely on. I am really pleased to be taking on this role and looking forward to continuing to support businesses and their owners in the region.”

Abi’s experience is shaped by a varied career path, including earlier roles in marketing and the charity sector, as well as voluntary positions as treasurer for local community and youth organisations. This background has given her a pragmatic, real-world perspective that resonates with business owners.

Outside of work, Abi enjoys walking her black Labrador on Woodbury Common and spending time with friends and family at her local pub.
