Westcotts team cross Run Devon finish line to raise £2,000 for Young Devon

Westcotts were thrilled to sponsor the Young Devon Run Devon challenge this year, to help raise awareness and funds for the incredible work of Young Devon.

Taking place on the 9th & 10th September, the event started at Ilfracombe on Saturday, and finished at Plymouth Speedway on Sunday. There were five run challenge options, from the full 92 mile course to 9 miles, and the route passed through several Westcotts office locations including Barnstaple, Bideford, Okehampton and Plymouth.

Nine members of the Westcotts team joined the challenge – with a mixture of experience – and whilst the majority of the team ran the RD 9 Miler, a few took on the RD 15 Miler.

All the team were able to enjoy the beautiful Devon scenery throughout the day…

The team really pushed themselves to complete the challenge, with many running the furthest distance they ever had. And despite some injuries, everyone crossed the finish line. It’s fair to say, the team are still recovering!

Overall, the team raised over £2,000, contributing to the total £20,000 raised by all the Run Devon participants – surpassing the target and last year’s total!

It’s not too late to contribute and support the work of Young Devon by donating on the Run Devon website here.
