Scrambling support for Devon’s Classic Motorbike Club
Devon’s Classic Motorbike Scramble Club held its first big event of the year recently and Westcotts was there in full force to show its support for the high-adrenaline day out.
Terry Burdon, a long-standing client, and chairman of the Scramble Club reached out to Westcotts for sponsorship, after seeing the firm’s keen involvement in other local community events.
Competitors raced their bikes across a natural track in the glorious Devon countryside creating a buzz and excitement for everyone watching from the side-lines.
Westcotts’ partner Stuart Carrington attended with his family, as well as other team members from the Axminster office. With riders making impressive jumps over dirt ramps, everyone in the crowd and from our firm had a great time.
As one of the sponsors of the event, Westcotts banners and flags lined the course. The firm has a long history of looking after clients working in the motorcycle and motor vehicle industry and Westcotts is the first accountancy firm of its kind to provide sponsorship for the event.
“It was a really well managed event, and you can tell everybody involved is a true enthusiast. Westcotts were honoured to hand out trophies to the winners on the day,” said Westcotts partner Stuart Carrington.
“The event was exciting and different from the events we’ve sponsored before. It also provided us with great exposure, with our sponsorship being well received by everyone involved.
“Reaching out to small businesses is important to us and creates opportunity for making change in the community as we open up to new audiences. The opportunity to do so is just one of the many reasons we think it’s important to sponsor local initiatives.”
The Devon Classic Motorbike Scramble Club has two more events scheduled this year. This includes the 1000cc sidecar championships on the Sunday 25 June with the final race on Sunday 10 September at Smeatharpe, Honiton.
Stuart added: “We are thrilled to continue our sponsorship and support of this fantastic club and look forward to more exciting events in the future.”
