We’re now looking for an Accounts Technician to join our welcoming Bridgwater office on a permanent basis.

Main Duties

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll be involved in:

  • Preparing financial statements for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships (up to the audit threshold)
  • Drafting personal and corporate tax returns and computations
  • Providing bookkeeping and management accounts services to a range of clients
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Ensuring client accounting records are accurate and up to date
  • Filing documents with Companies House and HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Supporting the team with general admin tasks and helping ensure everything runs smoothly
  • Adhering to our internal procedures, ethical standards, and compliance requirements
  • You’ll be working alongside experienced colleagues and supported by managers and partners who are invested in your development and success.

Attributes, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

We’re after someone with polished technical skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for client service. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience working in an accountancy practice at Accounts Technician or Semi-Senior level
  • AAT qualification (or qualified by experience)
  • A background in preparing accounts for limited companies and unincorporated businesses
  • A friendly, team-focused attitude and strong communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and an ability to manage your time and deadlines
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and cloud-based software
  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • The ability to work independently and adapt to changing client needs

  • Up to 36.25 hours / 5 days per week.
