Westcotts celebrate the best of business at the Somerset Business Awards

Last month we were delighted to attend the Somerset Business Awards gala, on 22^nd March 2024. The annual awards offer a unique opportunity for businesses across the county to come together and celebrate the best of business in the region.

Hosted at the Winter Gardens Pavilion in Weston-super-Mare, the 19^th Somerset Business Awards saw nearly 400 business people from across Somerset attend the gala evening. The event was organised by Somerset Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Global and Heart FM broadcast journalist, Cormac MacMahon.

Our own Heather Davis attended the gala alongside colleagues Peter Lomax, Kelly Davies, Tara Bell, Kay Murray, Simon Valetine Marsh and Nikki Rosewarn to celebrate the local businesses nominated for an award.

This year we were also delighted to sponsor the Start-up of the Year Award which was awarded to Wessex Pop-Up Coldrooms Ltd. Based in Curry Rivel the company specialise in building modular cold rooms, supplying commercial kitchens, hospitals and pharmacies. The runners up included Milton and Chambers and Our Precious Earth.

Heather Davis, Partner at Westcotts, sat on the judging panel for the Start-up of the Year Award. She said: “I really enjoyed the whole process from meeting the shortlisted entries, the other judges and presenting the award on the night. Supporting new businesses in the region is very important to the team and I so getting this opportunity to meet so many businesses from the area was fantastic.

“The quality of the entries we received was incredible and whittling them down was a challenge. Congratulations to all those who received an award and to the runners up.”
