Westcotts hosts life-saving defibrillator at its Weston-super-Mare office
A community-wide effort in Weston-Super-Mare has seen a new potentially life-saving defibrillator installed at Westcotts office in the town.
The device, funded through the generous support of the Weston-Super-Mare Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Donate for Defib WsM Project, will be available 24/7 and ensures another vital resource is ready to save lives when it matters most.
Representatives from Westcotts, the Chamber of Commerce, the Donate For Defib WsM Project team, together with installation specialists AMS Electrical – SouthWest, gathered at Westcotts’ offices in Walliscote Rd to celebrate the completion of the installation.
A commemorative plaque recognising the Chamber of Commerce’s fundraising efforts will be placed above the defibrillator in the coming weeks.
Heather Davis, Partner at Westcotts, who is also Treasurer of the Weston Chamber of Commerce, said the firm was delighted to provide the location for the new defibrillator.
She said: “We are very pleased and proud to host this essential piece of life-saving equipment at our Weston-Super-Mare office. It is the result of a wonderful collaborative effort in the town and ensures that the community has increased access to equipment which can make a massive difference in life-threatening situations.”
Josh Bell, Project Lead for the Donate For Defib Project – Weston-Super-Mare, said: “We would like to thank the Chamber and all those involved for contributing towards the funding for the new defibrillator and Westcotts for agreeing to host, provide the power for and take care of the equipment at their offices.
“This is another defibrillator registered with the British Heart Foundation and The Circuit to be rescue-ready to save further lives!”
