Westcotts proud sponsors of Spark UK’s ‘All Star Advent’ campaign

Westcotts were one of the proud sponsors of Spark UK’s launch event for their ‘All Star Advent’ Calendar this December. Last week (on 1st December) the group launched their flagship annual campaign at Exeter Cathedral, and our own Daniel Turton was there to mark the occasion.

Spark UK was founded by a group of North Devon teenagers aged between 14-18 years old. They are on a mission to erase the stigma surrounding young people and mental health by providing resources to schools and partnering with other organisations across the country.

For the third year in a row, Spark UK have launched their flagship campaign known as the ‘All Star Advent’ Calendar which aims to spark conversations around mental health every day in December. Behind each ‘door’, there is a video from an assortment of familiar faces sharing mental health advice. So far, the All Star Advent has featured appearances from the likes of Stephen Fry and Aisling Bea.

As part of the launch, the group held an event at Exeter Cathedral, to which Westcotts were one of the proud sponsors. Westcotts’ Senior Accountant, Daniel Turton, was there to support the organisation. The guests were treated to live musical performances, guest speakers, and school choirs, all of which were being live streamed to schools across the country.

Daniel Turton, Senior Accountant at Westcotts said: “The work by Spark UK to break down the stigma surrounding mental health is incredibly important and the All Star Advent Calendar is a great campaign to get people talking.”

“Westcotts were honoured to play a small part in supporting this great initiative as one of the sponsors for the launch event. It was great to hear from all of the guest speakers and enjoy the musical performances.”

Other promotion surrounding the event includes a national design competition and numerous partnerships with other organisations. This year’s campaign will be raising money for charities, Place2Be and Beyond.
