Westcotts promotes Kay Murray to Director at Burnham-on-Sea office

Westcotts has promoted Kay Murray to Director at its Burnham-on-Sea office, where she supports a wide range of clients across Somerset.

Kay works with a diverse client base including personal tax clients, sole traders and privately owned companies. A qualified accountant for more than 25 years, she is well known and respected for her extensive experience advising owner-managed businesses and individuals at different stages of their journey.

Alongside her professional background, Kay also brings first-hand experience of running a business, having spent time earlier in her career operating a family business with her husband. This has given her a practical understanding of the pressures involved in business ownership and allows her to offer clients valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities they face.

Kay said: “Although I’ve been a qualified accountant for more than 25 years, spending time running our own family business gave me a very different perspective. It’s an experience that has proved invaluable, as I understand first-hand many of the challenges clients are likely to encounter – and how to approach these.

“I am delighted to be taking on this role and looking forward to continuing to work within the highly supportive and expert team at Westcotts, supporting clients across Somerset and the wider South West.”

Outside of work, Kay enjoys spending time with her family, attending exercise classes and visiting and staying in one of her favourite parts of the world, Lundy Island. She is also a keen Bath Rugby supporter and, having grown up in Devon, follows Plymouth Argyle.
